Jeff Michalic is an experienced land broker and the Managing Broker for both Mossy Oak Properties Indiana Land & Lifestyle and Mossy Oak Properties Illinois Land & Lifestyle, leading a team of over 30 agents across two states. He specializes in residential, investment, tillable, recreational, and premier hunting properties — helping buyers and sellers unlock the full potential of rural real estate.

Born and raised in western Indiana, Jeff understands the deep emotional and generational connection people have with land. That perspective shapes the way he serves his clients — not just as transactions, but as deeply personal decisions about heritage, lifestyle, and legacy.

Jeff and his wife Buffy have been married for more than 30 years and are proud parents to three children: Madison, Hunter, and Ben. When he’s not helping clients, Jeff can almost always be found outdoors — bowhunting whitetail deer and turkeys, duck hunting, fishing, managing wildlife habitat, or coaching youth sports.

Jeff’s true passion is land stewardship — managing properties to grow and hunt mature trophy whitetails. That passion, combined with decades of real-world land and market experience, has made Jeff one of the most trusted and recognized land brokers in the Midwest.

Our mother, who passed had farmland in Vigo County, Indiana since the 1950s. We decided to put the land up for sale (188 acres). We searched for realtors and were very happy to come across Jeff Michalic. From our first conversation, Jeff was professional, knowledgeable, honest, and personable. And in spite of the land sitting idle for a few years with no crops and having limited access, Jeff managed to find perspective clients. He even recommended a local farmer, which we hired to clear the land and plant crops. After about a year of not much interest, Jeff was open to discussing a new strategy and made suggestions on how to lower the price and entice a variety of potential buyers. It included considering wetland programs, and leasing part of the land for hunting and fishing. This strategy worked, and we recently negotiated a cash offer with a buyer.
