I’m a Certified Land Specialist and top-producing land and rural residential broker serving Western Indiana and Eastern Illinois. I proudly serve as the Managing Broker for Mossy Oak Properties Indiana Land & Lifestyle and Mossy Oak Properties Illinois Land & Lifestyle, leading a team of more than 30 agents across two states. I help clients buy and sell farmland, hunting properties, recreational land, large-acreage tracts, and residential homes connected to land and lifestyle.

I’m known as the go-to Land Specialist in Western Indiana and Eastern Illinois. I’m consistently a top-producing agent in Indiana year after year and consistently one of the leading volume-producing agents in the THAAR MLS. My reputation has been built on production, integrity, and results.

From 2017 through 2025, I’ve sold over 27,000 acres across Indiana and Illinois. I’ve earned 7 Pinnacle Club awards — recognizing the top ten land agents in the nation for quarterly sales volume.

As Managing Broker, I’ve built and led a team that has earned 8 Mossy Oak Properties Office of the Year nominations — a legacy built on culture, accountability, production, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. Our office has also been recognized as a 4-time Office of the Year winner.

In 2024, my wife Buffy and I were honored with the Fox Haas Award, recognizing leadership, character, and service within the Mossy Oak Properties network. It was one of the proudest moments of my life and career — and even more meaningful to share that honor alongside my wife.


Hunting Property & Land Management Expertise

I’m a proven hunting property expert who actively manages land to grow and hunt mature trophy whitetails. I don’t just sell hunting farms — I assist in building them.

Each April, I host a Field Day at our farm, the Mossy Oak Properties Proven Grounds, where we share land management strategies, food plot techniques, habitat improvements, timber management practices, and wildlife development systems with landowners from across the region.

My experience includes:

While I’m well known for hunting properties, my experience extends across farmland and residential real estate as well.

I regularly assist area farmers in buying and selling large tracts of productive tillable ground — many involving complex 1031 exchanges, estate transitions, and multi-parcel investment strategies.

I also represent residential properties, including:

Roots in Western Indiana

My wife Buffy and I have been married for over 30 years, and we’re proud parents of Madison, Hunter, and Ben. We were born and raised in western Indiana, and we chose to raise our children here as well. I understand the generational connection families have to their land and homes because I’ve lived it.

Many of our most cherished memories are tied to the ground in this area — fishing or swimming in Brouilletts Creek, bowhunting in the fall, cutting down our family Christmas tree, and spending countless hours outdoors together. Outside of real estate, you’ll still find me doing those same things — bowhunting whitetails and turkeys, duck hunting, fishing, managing habitat, or coaching.

This isn’t just where I work — it’s home. It’s where our roots run deep.

Our mother, who passed had farmland in Vigo County, Indiana since the 1950s. We decided to put the land up for sale (188 acres). We searched for realtors and were very happy to come across Jeff Michalic. From our first conversation, Jeff was professional, knowledgeable, honest, and personable. And in spite of the land sitting idle for a few years with no crops and having limited access, Jeff managed to find perspective clients. He even recommended a local farmer, which we hired to clear the land and plant crops.
